TM's goes back to the establishment of the Telecommunications Department of Malaya in 1946. In 1962 the company introduced Subscriber Trunk Dialling (STD) between Kuala Lumpur and Singapore via the first long-distance microwave link. The following year, the company expanded its microwave network throughout the country.
In 1968, the Telecommunications Department of Malaya was merged with the Telecommunications Department of Sabah and Sarawak to form the Telecommunications Department of Malaysia, also known by its Bahasa Malaysia name, Jabatan Telekom Malaysia (JTM)

1. PEMBANTU PEGAWAI TEKNIK
Tugas:
• Bertanggungjawab untuk aktiviti pemasangan dan baikpulih kerosakan untuk perkhidmatan 1GOV*Net, TM SBB, INTRANET, PKI, Value Added Services, Solar System Services, Managed Network Services dan LAN.
Kelayakan Akademik/ Profesional :
• Diploma Sains Komputer, Telekomunikasi Maklumat, Elektronik dan Elektrik atau setaraf dengannya
• 5 tahun pengalaman dalam bidang network technical & services.
• 1 tahun pengalaman dalam bidang perkakasan dan perisian komputer
Lain-Lain Tugas:
• Mewakili SAF bagi aktiviti OSHE di peringkat Ibusawat dan memastikan keselamatan sentiasa diutamakan.
• Memberi latihan teknikal kepada KKH, TM dan pelanggan apabila diperlukan.
• Memastikan segala peralatan yang diperlukan sentiasa berada didalam keadaan baik dan selamat digunakan. Ini termasuklah kenderaan,tools, test gear, alat-alat bantuan mekanikal, dan laptop.
• Mewakili GITN untuk site visit, training, roadshow, mesyuarat, joint test dan lain-lain.
• Membantu pengguna membuat pemasangan LAN di pejabat dan menunjukkan kemahiran asas membuat troubleshooting jika menghadapi masalah capaian ke sistem EG*net/Intra*Net
