1. Digital Communication Manager, Marketing and Future Students  (Selangor - Bandar Sunway)

Responsibilities:

The Marketing Department leads the promotion of the University’s brand, program and research strengths to the internal and external community, including prospective undergraduate and postgraduate students and to manage the communications and positioning of the University. The Digital Communications Manager is responsible for ensuring the University obtains maximum benefit from the opportunities presented by digital technologies. In addition to managing the operational development of the University website, the manager will initiate and as appropriate manage and deliver the development of new digital marketing initiatives. These may include, for example, the development of mobile apps, digital advertising campaigns, webinar programs and social media activities with a particular focus on prospective students and the wider academic and business community.
The key expectations of this position are to manage the University’s digital assets and initiatives, to promote the University to stakeholders in a professional manner and to be responsive to the needs of a diverse client group.

The incumbent is also expected to be proactive in maintaining an excellent understanding of broader contemporary communication practices and to recognise opportunities for utilising these to meet business objectives. He/ She will work closely with stakeholders and will have responsibility for managing a Web Writer and student interns.

Requirements:

Relevant degree with subsequent relevant experience in the application and management of digital technologies or in developing and managing broader communication plans.
An excellent working knowledge of contemporary communication practices, particularly in the digital area.
Proven experience in successfully managing complex websites and implementing a wide variety of digital applications.
Demonstrated proficiency with web development and design software such as Photoshop, Dreamweaver and Content Management Systems (such as Joomla) and processes as well as standard office applications and databases. ,
High level interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate with and maintain constructive work relationships with people at all levels of both academic and administrative staff
Proven skills in staff and project management, high-level organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet strict deadlines.

2, Technical Officer - Civil, School of Engineering -  (Selangor - Bandar Sunway)

Responsibilities:

The Technical Officer will be working with Civil engineering laboratories team in the School and reports to the Senior Technical Officer. This position will have primary responsibility in the operation of Civil Engineering Laboratories and its facilities, providing support to colleagues, academic staff, and students. The major objective of the person in this position is to operate the machineries in the Civil Engineering laboratories, assist in project fabrication, and conduct demonstrations of laboratory facilities and equipment. The position will take responsibility for key roles within the purview of the Lab Manager including equipment maintenance, calibration, servicing as well as OHSE.

Requirements:

• Completion of relevant tertiary degree and significant relevant experience in administration or management in a university environment.
• Understanding of the academic environment and university organization, including knowledge of policies and procedures relating to research matters and higher degrees by research.
• Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, with significant proficiency with standard office software such as MS Office.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and maintain constructive work relationships at all levels and across diverse groups, including academic and administrative staff and students.
• Demonstrated high level self-organizational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritize workloads, and work independently of routine supervision within the position’s parameters.
• Demonstrated capacity to initiate and complete major projects and resolve complex issues.
• Demonstrated capacity to implement and systematically manage diverse policies and procedures in a large organization.
• Knowledge and awareness of research and development activities and practices.





3. Technical Officer - ECSE, School of Engineering  (Selangor - Bandar Sunway)

Responsibilities:

The Technical Officer will be working with Electrical and Computer Systems engineering laboratories team in the School and reports to the Senior Technical Officer. This position of Technical Officer will have primary responsibility for the operation of the laboratory, providing direct support to laboratory colleagues, academic staff, and students, under the supervision and direction of the Laboratory Manager, as shown in the organisational chart below. The major objective of the person in this position is to prepare the labs by setting up the apparatus and assisting the course lecturers or fellow colleagues to conduct the practicals for the respective courses.
The position will take responsibility for key roles within the purview of the Lab Manager including OHSE, equipment maintenance, servicing and repairs as well as planning of renovation. The position will supervise staff when the School expands further but does not have financial delegation.

Requirements

:• Diploma in Engineering or related area, together with at least 2-3 years relevant work experience in an engineering laboratory environment or, completion of a post-trades certificate and extensive relevant experience in an engineering laboratory environment.
• Basic theoretical and practical knowledge of Physics or physical science and Chemistry.
• Strong personal skills to build relationship with students and staff and mentor junior laboratory technicians.
• Proven ability to work independently under broad supervision.
• Resourceful and possess strong organization and time management skills to coordinate multiple projects and allocate resources accordingly.
• Able to work under pressure and in a team environment.
• Ability to communicate well in English.
• Manual dexterity to perform job responsibilities i.e. moving or re-locating equipment etc.
• Possess basic computer skills.
• General understanding of laboratory and OH&S requirements.
• The ability to apply effective work practices, use initiative, work without close supervision and apply attention to detail.
